Earlier this week, Triumph announced a new, higher-specification version of their Street Triple – the 2009 Street Triple R. The R adds a swag of attitude and in Triumph’s own words “is not a bike for shrinking violets…” The new Street Triple R is packed with race track technology. Fully-adjustable 41mm USD forks and a top-spec rear monoshock unit with piggy back reservoir deliver on the handling front, while radially mounted four-piston calipers and twin 308mm brake discs help to keep R riders out of the bushes. At the heart of Street Triple R is the Street Triple’s fuel-injected 675cc three-cylinder engine, producing 108ps at 11,700rpm. The R’s fully adjustable sports suspension and powerful four-piston radial brakes are derived from Triumph’s Daytona 675. source
